A home survey will normally consist of checking the condition of the flue/chimney,  looking at sizes of the chimney to determine whether your chosen appliance will fit, assessing whether you have the correct chimney pot & cowl and advising on estimate fittings costs. We always recommend having a home survey as whilst you may have located your dream fireplace, unfortunately, it may be that your existing flue may not be suitable for it.
